Endowment Performance

A Message from the Foundation’s Investment Office | March 2020

Of all forms of private giving, endowments offer perhaps the most influential of investments in higher education—providing both immediate and continuing impact on the University.

The permanent financial foundations created by endowed funds build self-renewing, living legacies that span generations. A strong endowment also increases the University’s ability to more readily predict one of its revenue streams.

The UI Foundation manages many endowment funds that collectively produce earnings used to support designated University programs, faculty, and students in perpetuity across our three campuses in Urbana-Champaign, Chicago, and Springfield.
