Shari M. Fox

Shari Fox is responsible for the strategic direction and coordination of a carefully-managed principal ($5M+) gift effort and the management and support of the development activities of the president of the University of Illinois System. She works closely with the president’s office and her university and Foundation colleagues in these efforts. Shari also has senior leadership responsibility for the gift planning and trust services program and the development program for the UI System-led Discovery Partners Institute.

Shari joined the Foundation from the University of Michigan where she was assistant vice president for development and a member of the senior management team in the Office of University Development. At Michigan, she held senior responsibility for the Office of Gift Planning, Donor Relations and Stewardship, Student Life Development, various unit programs, and served as liaison to unit and regional campus development programs.

Before joining the University of Michigan in 2006, Shari was director of gift planning with The University of Cincinnati Foundation. She also led all development and community relations efforts for Beech Acres, a child-focused family service agency in Cincinnati, was the endowment director for the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, and worked in endowment and planned gift administration at Fifth Third Bank.

Shari received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Miami University (Ohio) and her MBA from Xavier University.
