Wesley W. Curtis

Wes Curtis joined the University of Illinois Foundation as vice president and general counsel in August, 2016. He is responsible for planning and directing the day-to-day aspects of the Foundation’s legal affairs. Wes represents the Foundation, providing expert and strategic legal advice to management and the Foundation Board of Directors. Further, he serves as the Foundation’s liaison to the University Ethics & Compliance Office.

Previously, Wes served as Associate University Counsel for nine years at the University of Illinois where he provided legal advice to university clients and university related organizations in matters related to real estate, contracts, gifts and bequests, investment, governance and other business transaction matters. Before coming to the University of Illinois, Wes worked for 18 years in the banking industry. Prior to that, he practiced general business law at the law firm of Franklin, Flynn & Palmer in Champaign, Illinois.

Wes obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois Law School in 1986 and graduated with high honors from the University of Illinois in 1983 with a BS in finance.
