University of Illinois Campaign Update

The University of Illinois’ $2.25 billion Brilliant Futures Campaign reached $1,213,188,929 as of October 31, 2007, or just about 54 percent of its goal.

Of the $1.213 billion in gift commitments made, $44.9 million has been designated by donors for endowed chairs, $27.3 million for professorships, $86.7 million for undergraduate scholarships, and over $25.6 million for graduate student fellowships. More than $18 million has been subscribed for libraries. Research logged $235.9 million in private gifts, grants and pledges, and over $323 million has been committed in unrestricted funds by donors to U of I colleges, departments and other academic units on the University’s three campuses.

Donors have earmarked $157.7 million for specific programs on the campuses at Urbana-Champaign, Chicago and Springfield and nearly $65.6 million for public service. Campus facilities received over $74 million in gift commitment support as of the end of October.

The Brilliant Futures Campaign began July 1, 2003 and will conclude on December 31, 2011.
