2017 CASE REUSS ADVANCEMENT INTERNSHIP UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS FOUNDATION

Feb 09, 2017 01:51 PM

APPLICATION DEADLINE: FRIDAY, MARCH 10, 2017

Established in 1935, the University of Illinois Foundation (UIF) is an independent nonprofit corporation responsible for raising and administering private gifts that advance the University of Illinois—a world-class public research university system, and its excellence in teaching, research, public service, and economic development across all three campuses.

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) is a professional association serving educational institutions and the advancement professionals who work on their behalf in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and allied areas. CASE helps its members build stronger relationships with their alumni and donors, raise funds for campus projects, produce recruitment materials, market their institutions to prospective students, diversify the profession, and foster public support of education.

The CASE Reuss Advancement Internship at the University of Illinois Foundation seeks to increase and diversify the number of professionals in educational advancement. This program is designed to attract students (undergraduate and graduate) who may not have previously considered a career in institutional advancement. It was made possible by the generous foresight and vision of late University of Illinois alumnus and UI Foundation Board Director Robert P. Reuss ’39.

This eight-week summer internship will provide hands-on learning experience. Interns receive on-the-job training and gain valuable skills in the three professional areas of advancement—alumni relations, communications & marketing, and philanthropy.

The CASE REUSS ADVANCEMENT INTERN will receive:

  • An eight-week, full-time experience at the University of Illinois Foundation (June 5–July 28, 2017)
  • A $5,000 stipend
  • All expense paid training in Washington, DC
  • Complimentary CASE ASAP (Affiliated Student Advancement Programs) convention registration
  • Weekly participation in CASE advancement eLearning (8 hours per week)
  • A book allowance from the CASE Bookstore
  • An assigned mentor
  • Continued support beyond the program conclusion

Interested candidates should submit this application with requested materials by Friday, March 10, 2017. Review of applications will begin March 10, 2017 and continue until the position is filled.
