Important 2016 Year-End Giving Announcements
The University of Illinois Foundation offices will be closed at 5:00 CST on December 22, 2016 through January 2, 2017 in observance of the holidays. Regular business hours will resume at 8:00 a.m. CST, January 3, 2017, however staff will be monitoring phone messages and email during the holiday break, should assistance be needed with a year-end gift intention.
Online credit card gifts for calendar year 2016 may be received via the secure UIF giving website until 11:59 p.m. CST on December 31. In accordance with IRS guidelines, the gift date is the charge date, so any credit card gifts sent via U.S. mail and received after December 31 or online credit card gifts received after 11:59 p.m. CST on December 31 will be posted as calendar year 2017 gifts.
Cash, checks, stock certificates or IRA distribution checks received in the mail after January 1, 2017 but postmarked by December 31, 2016 will still be processed as 2016 gifts. Electronic wires and securities transfers (gifts or IRA distributions) should be received by the Foundation account by 12:00 p.m. December 30, 2016.
