Christy Devocelle Honored with Prestigious CASE Award
University of Illinois Foundation COO/CFO Christy Devocelle received the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Commonfund College and University Foundation Award at the annual CASE Conference for College and University Foundations last week in Denver. The award is given to individuals who have made valuable contributions through best practices, distinguished service, and/or volunteer leadership to the college and university foundation field. University of Toledo President Brenda S. Lee also received the award.
Since joining the Foundation in 1997, Devocelle has led several transformative projects, including redesigning and developing the gift accounting process and overseeing the design, construction, and operating procedures of the new University of Illinois Philanthropy Center. She has also served on numerous non-profit boards and committees. Devocelle has been a CASE National Committee for College and University Foundations member since 2021.
CASE and Commonfund, an asset management firm focused on non-profit institutions, have been presenting a college and university foundation award since 2001. Previous winners include UIF CEO/President Jim Moore, who received the award in 2015 when he served as president and CEO of the University of Arizona Foundation.
