Annual Gifts

Annual gifts are a type of current funding that provides an important source of operational revenue. They are usually used in the year they are received and can support day-to-day needs, making an immediate impact on the lives of students and faculty. Growing annual giving is a top priority for the university.

Student employees in our engagement department are key to the University of Illinois’ ongoing development activities. The University of Illinois Foundation employs approximately 150 students every semester at our engagement centers in Champaign and Chicago.

Our engagement efforts include texting and phone outreach to alumni and friends across the nation. Students not only get a chance to speak to our alumni and friends, but they also have the opportunity to develop skills in public relations, written and verbal communication, and customer relations.

When you receive a call or text from us, you can be certain a current University of Illinois student is on the other end ready to share their experiences and also hear about yours! These dedicated students work hard providing updates on campus life, current issues, and important priorities for the entire University of Illinois System. Best of all, they’re here to let you know just how much we appreciate your contributions to the University of Illinois.

You may make an annual gift at any time to the University of Illinois Foundation by responding to a mail appeal, a phone call, a text message, an email request, or by clicking here to make a contribution online. You may also call (217) 244-2706 or contact the development office of the college or unit you’d like to support.
